On May 1, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation of Muslim religious leaders of the member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States (TST).

Axar.az informs that the delegation includes the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Kholiknazarov, Chairman of the Gazakh Muslim Board Naurizbay Otpenov, Chairman of the Kyrgyzstan Muslim Board Abdulaziz Zakirov and Head of Religious Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ahmet Unsal.

The importance of the 6th World Intercultural Dialogue Forum was touched upon at the meeting.

President Ilham Aliyev said that friendly and fraternal relations between Turkic-speaking countries are developing successfully, at the same time, he noted the importance of cooperation between the religious leaders of these countries and emphasized that this cooperation contributes to the strengthening of relations between our countries and peoples. The head of state touched on the importance of the guests' visit to our territories freed from occupation and said that this visit will provide a good opportunity to get to know the processes taking place there.

President Ilham Aliyev opened the Mirza Ulugbey Secondary School No. 1, which was built in Fuzuli during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Kurmangazy Children's Creative Center, which was built in Fuzuli during the state visit of the President of Gazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to Azerbaijan. during his state visit, he valued the laying of the foundation of a complete secondary school building to be built in the village of Khidirli, Agdam, as a manifestation of our friendship and fraternal relations. Chairman of the Muslim Administration of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Kholiknazarov conveyed the greetings of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Head of Religious Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ahmet Unsal conveyed the greetings of the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar to the head of our state.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ersin Tatar.

Expressing their gratitude for the hospitality shown to them in Azerbaijan, the religious leaders emphasized the importance of this Forum and said that the meaningful speech of our head of state at the Forum gave them a deep impression. The guests emphasized that this event serves to bring our historical, religious and cultural roots, which are based on friendly and brotherly relations between Turkic-speaking countries, closer to each other.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that our historical and religious monuments were destroyed by the Armenians during the occupation and said that new mosques are being built within the framework of the large-scale restoration works being carried out in those areas, and the destroyed ones are being restored.
