Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter, which crashed on May 19, is a 30-year-old "Bell 212".
Axar.az reports that this information was released by the "Stratcom Bureau".
It is reported that the helicopter was manufactured in 1994, with registration number 6-9207, and the manufacturer's serial number is 35071.
The helicopter is certified only for visual flight and can carry 6 passengers.
"Its spare parts are under sanctions, and technical service for the helicopter has been suspended by the manufacturer," the information states.
It is emphasized that the helicopter's electrical equipment is not strong:
"At the same time, the collective reaction of the turboshaft is not fast enough to fly at changing terrain levels, and it cannot perform heavy load flights at high altitudes with uninterrupted mountain terrain.
Especially dangerous is passenger boarding on an old and unreliable helicopter without avionics."
It should be noted that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Tabriz's Friday Prayer Leader (Imam Juma) Ayatollah Ali Al-Hashem, and East Azerbaijan Province Governor Malik Rahmati died in the helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan Province on May 19.
In total, there were officially 8 passengers on the plane (according to unofficial sources, 9 passengers). The helicopter crashed between the villages of Uzi and Pir, in the Dizmar forest. The Dizmar forest is located at an altitude of 2000-2700 meters above sea level. The crash occurred in the part of the Dizmar forest up to 2200 meters.
It is worth noting that previously, it was emphasized that the helicopter was manufactured in 1979 (a U.S. official had also reported that the helicopter had been in service for 45 years - ed.).
