Axar.az reports that Infantino shared photos of the Egyptian team on social media and thanked the players, saying the 2026 World Cup would always hold a special place in the history of Egyptian football.

"Thank you. The 2026 World Cup will always have a special place in the history of Egyptian football. This is the team's first qualification for the knockout stage and its first victory in the group stage. Your performance became a source of inspiration for your fans both in your country and around the world. The memories you created this summer will remain in the hearts of all Egyptian football supporters for many years," Infantino wrote.

It should be noted that Egypt advanced beyond the World Cup group stage for the first time in its history. The team eliminated Australia in a penalty shootout in the Round of 32 but lost 3-2 to Argentina in the Round of 16. After the match, Egyptian football officials sharply criticized FIFA, claiming the organization had worked to help Lionel Messi's team succeed.
