Fenerbahce has ended negotiations with Portuguese coach Sergio Conceicao over disagreements on contract terms and turned its attention to former midfielder Emre Belozoglu, who has emerged as the leading candidate for the managerial position.

Axar.az reports, citing Daily Sabah, that club president Aziz Yildirim has held talks with Belozoglu, currently head coach of Kasimpasa, with the two sides reaching a broad agreement. Further discussions are expected before a final decision is made.

Fenerbahce had initially considered Conceicao their preferred foreign candidate, but negotiations broke down over the proposed contract duration, salary, and coaching staff.

Belozoglu has guided Kasimpasa to fifth place in the Super Lig, one point ahead of Fenerbahce, who are currently sixth.
