Slovak President Peter Pellegrini will travel to Azerbaijan on Monday, July 13, for an official visit at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev.
Axar.az reports, citing Slovak media, that, according to the Presidential Palace, the trip follows the first-ever visit by an Azerbaijani head of state to Slovakia in December last year.
Discussions will focus on deepening energy cooperation, supporting Slovak exports, expanding industrial and technological cooperation, and improving transport links between the two countries. The leaders will also discuss the possible involvement of Slovak partners in projects aimed at restoring and developing conflict-affected areas.
Pellegrini will also visit the Aghdam region, where he will tour the "Smart Village" project in Bash Garvand and lay the foundation stone for a new school named after General Milan Rastislav Stefanik.
On Wednesday, July 15, the Slovak president will hold talks in Baku with Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Speaker of Parliament Sahiba Gafarova. He will also meet Vladimir Fekete, the Apostolic Prefect serving in Azerbaijan.
During his visit to Baku, Pellegrini will lay a wreath at the Alley of Martyrs and pay tribute at the grave of Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
A Slovakia–Azerbaijan Business Forum will also be held in Baku alongside the president's visit, bringing together Slovak business representatives. The forum is expected to provide opportunities to expand trade cooperation, establish new partnerships, and support Slovak companies seeking to enter the Azerbaijani market.
"The continuation of high-level political dialogue between Bratislava and Baku confirms both countries' interest in developing bilateral relations in areas of strategic importance for future growth—from energy security and economic cooperation to innovation, transport, and technological partnerships," the Presidential Palace said.
