Pashinyan sues former MPs

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has filed lawsuits against former MP Sofya Ovsepyan, a former member of his Civil Contract party, and Edmon Marukyan, leader of the Bright Armenia party and his former colleague in the Yelk parliamentary alliance.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Pashinyan is demanding an apology from Ovsepyan for what he describes as insulting remarks, as well as a retraction of her allegations that the parliamentary elections were rigged. He is seeking 2 million drams (about $5,400) in compensation for the alleged insults and 4 million drams (about $10,800) in damages for defamation.

The lawsuit against Marukyan has been published only in part, and the specific claims have not been disclosed. The filing states only that it is based on a video posted on Marukyan's Telegram channel shortly after the elections.
