Truck hits Armenian soldiers, killing one and injuring six

A truck hit a group of Armenian soldiers on a road leading to Chambarak in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province on August 19, killing one serviceman and injuring six others.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Armenia’s Defense Ministry made the announcement.

The ministry said the incident occurred at around 9 p.m. local time when the driver of a GAZ-53 truck struck the soldiers under circumstances that have not yet been established.

Serviceman Suren Vardanyan was killed in the accident.

The six injured soldiers were taken to a military hospital. Their lives are not in danger, and they remain under medical supervision, the ministry said.
