Schools in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh have switched to remote learning for the rest of the week amid heightened security concerns following reported Houthi attacks.

Axar.az reports, citing The National, that several schools informed parents that classes would be held online from Sunday through Thursday. The schools did not provide a reason for the decision.

The move comes a day after Saudi-led coalition forces said they intercepted two drones launched by the Houthis towards the Riyadh area. The coalition also said two ballistic missiles fired towards Khamis Mushait had been intercepted.

Saudi authorities have not officially announced a citywide decision to move schools online, and the Education Ministry has not publicly commented on the measure.
