Ryanair planes make emergency landings in Rome

Two Ryanair flights departing from Dublin were subjected to security checks on Tuesday following bomb threats, as a series of similar alerts disrupted air travel across Europe.

Axar.az reports, citing Ireland's RTE broadcaster, that a flight from Dublin to Rome landed at Fiumicino Airport, escorted by Italian Air Force fighter jets. Another flight from Dublin to Sofia landed safely in the Bulgarian capital with 185 passengers on board after receiving a bomb threat.

No explosives were found on either aircraft.

A separate Ryanair flight from Lisbon also landed at Rome's Fiumicino Airport. The airport operator said both aircraft arriving in Rome underwent security checks, including searches of passengers, crew and luggage. The alerts were cleared, and no threat to the airport itself was identified.

Other incidents were reported in Spain and Bulgaria. A Ryanair flight from Manchester to Murcia was inspected after a bomb alert, while a Wizz Air flight from Milan/Bergamo to Sofia was also searched. Neither inspection found explosives.

The incidents followed further bomb alerts involving flights to Poland and Bulgaria on Monday, including a Wizz Air flight diverted to Budapest and two aircraft checked at Warsaw airports.
