Cristiano Ronaldo has been named among the substitutes for Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Norway.

Axar.az reports, citing beIN Sports, that Portugal coach Jorge Jesus opted to rest the 41-year-old forward after he started against Wales three days earlier and played around 65 minutes in Portugal’s 1-0 win.

Jesus had already indicated before the match that he would assess Ronaldo’s physical condition before deciding whether he would start.

“I spoke with him today. I’m going to see how he feels, whether he starts or begins on the bench,” Jesus said at his pre-match press conference.

Goncalo Ramos is expected to lead Portugal’s attack from the start, while Ronaldo remains available from the bench.
