Qatar leads race to host next Club World Cup

Qatar is considered the leading candidate to host the next FIFA Club World Cup.

Axar.az reports that if Qatar is selected as the host, the tournament could be held during the winter, similar to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA and leading clubs continue to discuss the future of the competition following the introduction of the expanded format in 2025. One of the main issues under discussion is the tournament's place in the football calendar, as staging matches in winter would require significant changes to domestic league schedules.

The report adds that Mexico is also interested in hosting the tournament following its experience in organizing matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
