Dilan Polat detained over insult to President

Turkish social media influencer Dilan Polat has been detained on charges of insulting the president.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, following her detention, Polat was taken to the courthouse to give a statement.

Polat’s Instagram account was blocked in June by a decision of the Ankara Criminal Judgeship of Peace following an application by the Ministry of Family and Social Services. The decision was made on grounds of protecting public order and public health.
