Modern sleeper trains to launch on Baku–Tbilisi route -

Modern sleeper trains made up of sleeping carriages will operate on Azerbaijan Railways’ (ADY) Baku–Tbilisi–Baku route.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, head of the Public Relations Department at Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.

He noted that passengers on this route will be offered three service classes: Comfort, Comfort+, and Luxury.

“The train consists of six carriages: one Luxury carriage, one mixed Luxury and Comfort+ carriage, three Comfort carriages, and one restaurant carriage, with a total capacity of 118 passengers. One compartment in the Comfort carriage is designed for passengers with reduced mobility.

In addition, in the mixed Luxury and Comfort+ carriage, compartments are separated by a partition. For family and group travel, this partition can be removed upon request to create a single compartment,” he said.

He added that the carriages, manufactured by Switzerland’s Stadler Rail Group, are equipped with next-generation safety technologies and various innovative systems.

“In Luxury class, compartments are for two people and include a table, TV, shower cabin, and toilet. In Comfort+ class, compartments are also for two people and include a TV, table, and washbasin. In Comfort class, compartments are for four people and include a TV.

Comfort and Comfort+ carriages have shared facilities for passengers, while Luxury carriages feature a private shower and toilet in each compartment,” Hajiyev said.
