A new Indigenous Caucus has been established for the first time as part of the World Urban Forum 13 held in Baku.
Axar.az reports that this was announced by Florencia Soto Nino-Martinez, Co-Chair of the IUCN Working Group on Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, during a roundtable on “Adequate Housing for Indigenous Peoples.”
“This is the first time in the history of the World Urban Forum that an Indigenous Caucus has been established. We may be few in number here, but we are like seeds — we will grow and flourish,” she noted.
It is worth noting that today marks the final day of WUF13 in Baku.
