Amina Mohammed thanks Baku for successfully hosting WUF13

UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for successfully hosting WUF13, emphasizing the forum's importance amid global geopolitical tensions and conflicts.

Axar.az reports that, citing Repоrt, she made the statement at the forum's closing press conference in Baku.

"It is important not to underestimate this massive success, given the geopolitical tensions, turbulence, and conflicts that occupy much of our leaders' attention. This forum once again demonstrated why the World Urban Forum remains the premier global platform for sustainable urbanization and human settlements development. Led by the incredible Anaclaudia Rossbach, it brings together governments, civil society, the private sector, indigenous peoples, climate activists, academia, development banks, youth, women's organizations, local communities, and the UN system around a shared urban future," Mohammed said.

According to her, forum participants leave Baku with a renewed determination to work together to create inclusive, sustainable, and dignity-oriented communities and cities.
