Former border guard chief Abbasali Novruzov laid to rest -

Former Border Guard commander Major General Abbasali Novruzov has been laid to rest.

Axar.az reports that Chief of the State Border Service Elchin Guliyev, Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Karim Valiyev, relatives of the deceased and members of the public attended the funeral.

It should be noted that Abbasali Novruzov died yesterday morning at the age of 89.

On April 8, 1994, Abbasali Novruzov was appointed deputy minister of national security of Azerbaijan and commander of the Border Guard. He held the position until 2001.
