Italy legend Maldini appointed new FIGC technical director

The Italian Football Federation, known by its Italian acronym FIGC, has appointed Italian football legend Paolo Maldini as its new technical director.

Axar.az reports, citing the federation's official website, that Maldini has signed a four-year contract.

One of the most iconic figures in Italian football, Maldini spent his entire playing career at AC Milan. The former defender earned 126 caps and scored seven goals for Italy.

He also helped Italy finish as runners-up at one FIFA World Cup and claim third place at another.
