Former U.S. Presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton publicly praised Donald Trump on Monday for brokering the Gaza peace deal that ended the war between Israel and Hamas and secured the release of the last 20 Israeli hostages.
Axar.az, citing Axios, reports that Biden wrote on X that he was “deeply grateful and relieved” and commended Trump and his team for bringing the renewed ceasefire “over the finish line.” He added that the region is now “on a path to peace” with hopes for “equal measures of dignity and safety” for Israelis and Palestinians.
Clinton similarly credited Trump, Qatar, and other mediators for “keeping everyone engaged” until the deal was finalized, calling for a lasting peace in the Middle East.
Trump responded positively, saying Clinton’s remarks were “very nice” and recalling their past friendship. Meanwhile, Barack Obama had earlier welcomed the peace announcement but did not mention Trump by name — prompting a White House spokesperson to repost it, adding, “Say his name… PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
