Shooting suspect said he targeted Trump officials

The suspect in the shooting outside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, identified as Cole Allen, told law enforcement after his arrest that he intended to shoot officials in the Trump administration.

Axar.az reports, citing CBS, a law enforcement source said Allen did not specifically claim he was targeting President Donald Trump, but rather referred more broadly to “administration officials.”

Authorities are continuing to investigate the motive behind the attack, which led to a major security evacuation and the cancellation of the event.
