The death toll from Russia’s massive overnight strike on Kyiv has risen to 21.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Ukrainian emergency officials said around nine people may still be trapped under the rubble of a residential building in the city’s Darnytskyi district.

Rescuers managed to save 17 people at the site, including seven pulled from beneath the debris.

The attack injured 85 people, including two children. Destruction was reported across all districts of the Ukrainian capital.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said July 3 has been declared a day of mourning in the city.
