Waves of Russian missiles and strike drones pummeled Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities overnight on July 1-2, just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing another large-scale attack against Ukraine.
Axar.az reports, citing Kyiv Independent, ten people have been killed and at least 56 others injured, including two children, according to Kyiv City Military Administration Head Tymur Tkachenko and Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Russia launched dozens of cruise and ballistic missiles at Kyiv during the assault, which also involved mass drone strikes across multiple regions.
The attack destroyed residential buildings, damaged a hotel in central Kyiv, and left multistory buildings in flames. As of 7:00 a.m. local time, damage and destruction had been recorded at more than 30 locations across all districts of Kyiv as a result of the attack.
"The enemy is once again targeting residential areas and killing civilians. We have very serious destruction and a significant number of victims, including children," Tkachenko said.

The death toll from Russia's attack on Kyiv has risen to 11, while the number of injured has reached 56.
Ukraine's Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, made the remarks on Telegram.
"Kyiv and the Kyiv region have endured another enemy attack. According to preliminary information, 11 people were killed in the Russian strike. Another 56 people were injured, including children," he said.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the updated figures on Telegram.
"As a result of the enemy's overnight attack, 86 people have been injured in the capital. Seventy of them have been hospitalized. At present, 13 people are confirmed dead," he said.
