Azerbaijan, US officials discuss peace process and TRIPP

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov met with David Allen, the US chargé d’affaires in Armenia, in Baku on Tuesday, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

Axar.az reports, citing the Ministry, that the sides discussed the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, advancing the peace process, ensuring long-term and sustainable peace, and strengthening stability and security in the region.

The US chargé d’affaires in Azerbaijan, Amy Carlon, also attended the meeting.

They also exchanged views on the outcomes of Mammadov’s visit to the United States, marking the anniversary of the Washington Peace Summit, the implementation of the signed trilateral statement, and activities related to the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).

The sides also discussed the establishment of the TRIPP Development Company, which will lead the construction of infrastructure related to the route.

The meeting also covered the Azerbaijan-US bilateral agenda and prospects for future cooperation in areas outlined in the Strategic Partnership Charter.
