Hackers target Italy foreign minister

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has said that cybercriminals have been leaking his personal data on the dark web for several days because of Italy’s support for Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that Tajani made the statement in a post on his official X account.

He said the individuals involved were also targeting his family and offering money for additional information about him and his loved ones, exposing them to further threats and intimidation.

"My response is very simple: I will not be intimidated under any circumstances. I will continue working to defend my ministry and Italy, and I will further strengthen ties and cooperation with our allies to protect ourselves together," he said.

Tajani added that his position on Ukraine was the political reason he had become a target, arguing that defending the freedom of a sovereign state, democracy and national independence was considered dangerous by these criminal groups.
