Rubio raises possibility of Trump-Putin talks in China

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could meet on the sidelines of the APEC summit, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said.

Axar.az reports, citing the US Department of State, that Rubio also added that it was not yet clear whether the Russian president would attend the G20 summit in Miami.

"We spoke just briefly about the opportunity for our leaders to potentially interact at APEC next month," Rubio said.

“I don’t even know if President Putin is going to come to Miami. They haven’t announced that and they haven’t confirmed that,” he said.

It should be noted that Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov had previously said that a meeting between the leaders was included in the programme of the summit in China.
