Only the use of nuclear weapons can affect the situation in Ukraine.

Axar.az informs that these words were said by retired colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the head of the Pentagon.

"We cannot do anything on a conventional level to change the strategic landscape (in Ukraine - ed.), which means that the only thing we can resort to is nuclear weapons," he said.

According to the colonel, Russian President Vladimir Putin has made it clear that he does not want the escalation to reach this level, but he has warned that Moscow is ready to respond.

"Russia is a very modern scientific-industrial nation, probably has all the land and missile forces and drones in the world," McGregor said.
