Syria appoints first female governor

A transitional government in Syria has appointed a female governor for the city of As-Suwayda, marking a historic first for the country.

Axar.az reports this information, citing Turkish media.

It was noted that Mohsena al-Maithawi has been appointed to the position. Previously, she held a senior role in one of the country's banks.

It is also worth mentioning that not long ago, Maysa Sabirin was appointed as the head of the Syrian Central Bank.
