Qarabag defender Bence Varkonyi has been called up to Hungary’s senior national team for the first time.

Hungary head coach Marco Rossi included the 24-year-old center-back in the squad for four UEFA Nations League matches. Varkonyi is one of five players receiving their first call-up to the national team.

Hungary will host Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League on September 25. The team will then face Northern Ireland on September 28, Georgia on October 2, and travel to Ukraine on October 5.

Varkonyi joined Qarabag from Hungarian club Zalaegerszeg on July 3. He signed a three-year contract with the Aghdam-based club.
