Baltic states turn off Russian electricity

The Baltic states have officially disconnected their electricity grids from the BRELL (Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) energy system starting today.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by foreign media.

It was noted that the separation of the Baltic states' electricity grids has not affected consumers, and their energy systems are operating stably.

For 24 hours, the electricity grid operators of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania – Elering, AST, and Litgrid will operate solo in a so-called “island operation mode.”

The next day, the power system is set to merge with the Continental European and Nordic grids through several links with Finland, Sweden and Poland.
