The ban on protests in Ankara has been extended.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that the Ankara Governor’s Office has announced this decision.

It was stated that until 23:59 on April 1, gatherings, marches, press statements, tent setups, booth openings, sit-in protests, petition campaigns, and similar actions and events— including the distribution of flyers and hanging banners— are prohibited both indoors and outdoors.

It is worth noting that illegal protests have been held in several cities in Turkiye in response to the arrest of Istanbul’s Metropolitan Mayor, Ekrem Imamoğlu.
