Israeli musicians perform at Int'l Mugham Center

Israeli musicians have performed at the International Mugham Center as part of the 8th Uzeyir Hajibayli International Music Festival.

Violin virtuoso Hagai Shaham and pianist Yulia Gurvitch performed works of Brahms, Grieg and Schumann.

Shaham teaches at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University and is Artist in Residence at Stony Brook University, New York.

He is the co-founder and a board member of the Ilona Feher Foundation for promoting young Israeli violinists.

Gurvitch was born in Baku. She started activity as a pianist and accompanist in Moscow in 1980. She was an invited pianist at International Master Courses and Musical Competitions in Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia and Germany. Gurvitch is a member of the chamber music ensemble “Quattro Plus”.
