Turkish stars detained in drug promotion probe

Turkish pop star Irem Derici, 38, has been detained at her home in Istanbul’s Sisli district on charges of promoting drug use.

Axar.az reports the information was released by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

In addition, several other well-known figures — including singers Hadise, Simge Sagın, Ziynet Sali; actresses Ozge Ozpirincci, Berrak Tuzunatac, Demet Evgar, Ceren Moray Orcan, and Zeynep Meric Aral Keskin; actors Kaan Yıldırım, Mert Yazicioglu, Kubilay Aka, and Metin Akdulger; influencers Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, and Duygu Ozaslan Mutaf; prominent lawyer Feyza Altun; as well as TV presenter Defne Samyeli’s daughters, Deren and Derin Talu — have also been detained as part of an investigation into the promotion of drug use.
