Turkiye to stage more Azerbaijani plays

The General Directorate of Theaters of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism has adopted a new decision regarding the screening of works by Azerbaijani playwrights on Turkish stages.

Axar.az was informed about this by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkiye.

According to the information, the new cooperation agreement, which envisages the integration of Azerbaijani dramaturgy into the Turkish theater environment, was reached during a meeting between the Head of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkiye, Samir Abbasov, and the Head of the General Directorate of Theaters of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Tamer Karadagly.

During the meeting, “Theatrical Works of Abdurrahim Bey Hagverdiyev”, “Theatrical Works of Jafar Jabbarli”, and Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh’s play “The Sword Cutting Us (Goyturks)”, which were translated into Turkish at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, were presented to the Literary Society of Turkish Theaters.

The General Directorate of Theaters also announced that Huseyn Javid's "Iblis," Elchin Efendiyev's "Qatil," and "Among the Bees" have been approved by the Ministry's Literary Institution and recommended for staging in various theaters across the country.
