Russian People’s Artist Vera Alentova dies at 83

People’s Artist of Russia Vera Alentova has died at the age of 83.

Axar.az reports that the information was confirmed by Russian media.

Vera Alentova was born in 1942 in the city of Kotlas, Arkhangelsk Region. Throughout her career, she appeared in numerous stage productions and films. She rose to fame for her role in Vladimir Menshov’s film Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1981.

It is also recalled that Vladimir Menshov was originally from Baku.
