Akif Islamzade placed in intensive care

Azerbaijani People’s Artist Akif Islamzade has been hospitalized.

Axar.az reports that his son Aykhan Islamzade said the 77-year-old singer underwent heart surgery.

“My father had a stent inserted in his heart. He is currently in the intensive care unit. His condition suddenly worsened and he was taken to hospital,” he said.
