Akif Islamzade remains in ICU after heart surgery

Azerbaijani People’s Artist Akif Islamzade is continuing treatment in intensive care after undergoing heart surgery at the Central Customs Hospital in Baku.

Kult.az reports that the information was provided by the artist’s son, Aykhan Islamzade.

“I visited my father this morning. Over the past two days, his condition has improved further. He is speaking and giving instructions. He will remain in the intensive care unit today only and is expected to be moved out tomorrow,” he said.

It was noted that the 77-year-old artist recently underwent heart surgery and remains under medical supervision.
