The film “Club Kid”, screened at the Cannes Film Festival and becoming one of the most widely discussed titles of the event, has brought international attention to Azerbaijani actor Eldar Isgandarov.
Axar.az informs that, Eldar Isgandarov — the grandson of People’s Artist Shahmar Alakbarov — plays the character “Nicky” in the film. International media have highlighted his performance.
The Hollywood Repоrter praised Isgandarov’s acting, noting that he adds a distinctive touch to some of the film’s most memorable and funniest scenes, and described him as an actor who creates an intriguing and unusual character.
The website JoBlo referred to his role as a “philosopher from Azerbaijan,” noting that he is one of the key characters who brings both humor and a unique atmosphere to the film.
Little White Lies also listed Isgandarov among the most notable performers, emphasizing that his acting adds extra color to the production.
The film is directed by and stars Jordan Firstman. It also features Cara Delevingne, Diego Calva, and other well-known actors.
It is worth noting that “Club Kid”, screened in the “Un Certain Regard” section of Cannes, became one of the most talked-about films of the festival. After its screening, it received a 7-minute standing ovation. The distribution rights were reportedly acquired by A24 for millions of dollars.
