Azerbaijan's People's Artist and renowned film actor Tofig Mirzayev passed away late last night at a hospital in the Israeli city of Beer Sheva, Yegana Salman, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Israel, told APА.
The People's Artist had been admitted to the hospital two months ago after suffering a stroke.

Tofig Mirzayev was born in 1932 in Azerbaijan's Gadabay district. In 1976, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR and was later granted a presidential scholarship by the President of Azerbaijan.
On June 14, 2022, he was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the "Shohrat" (Glory) Order.
