A farewell ceremony for Honored Artist and poet Chingiz Alioglu was held at the Teze Pir Mosque.

Axar.az reports that officials from the Ministry of Culture, members of the literary and cultural community, the late poet's family members, and media representatives attended the ceremony.

Speakers highlighted Chingiz Alioglu's literary and public activities. Deputy Culture Minister Farid Jafarov said the poet's half-century literary career would serve as an important subject of scholarly research.

People's Writer Anar spoke about his close friendship with Chingiz Alioglu and described his death as a major loss for Azerbaijani literature.

Writer Seyran Sahavat said in his speech that Chingiz Alioglu possessed a unique poetic vision.

At the end of the ceremony, the late poet's son, film producer and director Orman Aliyev, thanked those who attended.

It should be noted that Honored Artist and poet Chingiz Alioglu passed away yesterday morning. He was laid to rest at Gurd Gapisi Cemetery.
