New details have emerged in the killing of popular Indian singer Ankit Baliyan.
Axar.az reports, citing Indian media, that the investigation revealed that one of the suspected participants in the crime is the heir to a substantial fortune.
The 32-year-old artist was attacked in the city of Shamli on August 26. Four people arrived at the scene on two motorcycles and opened fire on Baliyan with automatic weapons as he was leaving a gym. The attackers fled the scene, while the seriously wounded singer could not be saved.
On August 31, police tracked down two suspects in connection with the incident. They offered armed resistance to police officers and were killed in the ensuing shootout.
However, two other people suspected of involvement in the killing are still being sought. One of them has been identified as 19-year-old Satyam Kadian.
One of the notable aspects of the investigation is Kadian’s family’s financial standing. According to the report, the family owns 60 hectares of agricultural land and a large business in Karnal, Haryana. As the family’s only son, Kadian is reportedly expected to inherit the substantial fortune in the future.
