Prince Charles spoke about changing Harry’s nappy

Prince Charles had guests ‘laughing and crying’ during his impromptu speech at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception. The Prince of Wales, who had earlier walked his daughter in law down the aisle, sent guests into an emotional rollercoaster when he mentioned taking care of his son when he was younger.

Axar.az informs, Mail Online reported.

A guest at the reception at St George’s Hall said: ‘There was no mention of Diana in the speeches. ‘Charles spoke about feeding Harry a bottle and changing his nappy, and then said look how well he turned out. ‘That’s about as embarrassing as it got.’

The man of the hour Prince Harry did not let himself get outshone though and apparently followed up with a hilarious speech of his own. The guest added: ‘He promised that all the Americans wouldn’t steal the swords and said “Please, when you leave, be quiet as you don’t want to wake the neighbours”, which was quite fun. ‘It did feel we were really part of their very special occasion, which was great.’

As if things couldn’t get any better the lunchtime reception then saw Sir Elton John perform a medley of his hits after being introduced by Prince William. Guests at the lunch included the Queen, more than 30 royals and famous faces like US chat show queen Oprah Winfrey, tennis champion Serena Williams, actor George Clooney and his barrister wife Amal Clooney, Sir Elton John, David and Victoria Beckham and actor Idris Elba. The day’s celebrations culminated in a black-tie wedding dinner staged at Frogmore House and hosted by Charles for 200 of the couple’s closest friends and family.

Harry and Meghan, the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex, exchanged vows in front of 600 guests at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The royal family tweeted out afterwards: ‘Thank you to everyone who came to Windsor and those who followed from around the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world today. ‘Congratulations once again to the newly-married Duke and Duchess of Sussex. #royalwedding.’ The newlyweds will not immediately take their honeymoon and will remain in the country for a short while.
