Krakow to host Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Noel Curran has revealed that Krakow has been selected as the host city for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

In an interview with TVP Info, the EBU Director General has revealed that Krakow will be the host city for Junior Eurovision 2019. When asked about this year contest Mr Curran said: “This competition is growing year by year in terms of audience and number of participants, but also for quality. This is a very important event. We are constantly wondering how to attract young customers, and here we have a platform through which we can gain millions, and even tens of millions of young recipients all over Europe. This is a fantastic event that will take place in Krakow and I can not wait, the more that I will definitely be there.

No additional information has yet been revealed by TVP or the city of Krakow itself. It is expected that the Tauron Arena will be the venue for the contest.”

Poland is hosting the contest thanks to Roksana Wegiel who won with the song “Anyone I Want to Be”. She scored a total of 215 points beating runner up France by a total of 12 points. Poland came 7th in the jury vote with 79 points, but topped the online vote with 136 points.
