Statue of the world-famous singer Rashid Behbudov was erected in Baku.

The statue has been built in front of the State Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov.

The author of the monument is People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Rector of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts Professor Fuad Salayev. The opening ceremony of the monument is expected to be held in September.

Notably, Rashid Behbudov was born on December 14, 1915, 14, died on June 9, 1989.The famous singer has been awarded with a number of USSR prizes.

Last year 100th anniversary of R. Behbudov was marked.In 2015, President Ilham Aliyev signed order on celebration of 100th anniversary of Rashid Behbudov. According to that order, series of events was held.
