French actor Gerard Depardieu, who received Russian citizenship in 2013, donated money to the Ukrainian army.

Axar.az reports that the actor himself informed about this.

"I am ashamed to be Russian. It hurts me a lot that they make us look like thugs, fascists and criminals. I transferred the proceeds from the sale of my apartment in Mordovia to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I appeal to the French authorities for support and ask them to grant me refugee status," the actor said.

It should be noted that Gerard Depardieu strongly criticized Russia's attack on Ukraine last year.
