First Ashiq site launched in Iran

The site is dedicated to histori and modernity of Azerbaijani Ashiq art.

In addition to that, any Ashiq can send own autobiographic information, works and news on this website, to spread them.

Head of Iran Ashiq Union, Ashiq Shahbazi says, “We are an organization, officially recognized by the Iranian state. However, on some TV channels there are some who present themselves as heads of certain Iran Ashiq groups. For instance, a few months ago, one private channel in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan showed a person live, who was presented as the head of Tebriz Qaradagh Ashiq Union. After the broadcast, many Ashiqs from Iran called the President of the channel to state that “spreading such lies is disrespecting Iranian Ashiqs”. And thanks for his reply, as he said, “we will report that this news was wrong right in the next broadcast”. The head of the channel kept the word and a host stated that that person was lying. We express our thankfulness for reacting on our voice. For preventing such events happening again, we decided to discuss opening our own site. Here, on http://www.ashiqlarbirliyi.ir/ anyone can learn who is the head of certain unions and what kind of activities do certain Ashiqs undertake.”
