Ganja announced as a new cultural capital of CIS

Ganja city of Azerbaijan is announced as a cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Chairman of the Executive Committee of CIS Sergey Lebedev shared this information during his press conference in Bishkek city.

He proclaimed that cultural capital of CIS is elected for one year. Current cultural capital of the CIS is Dashoguz city of Turkmenistan. In this regard, the title has already passed and approved an action plan to Ganja. In 2017 inter-governmental cultural capital program’s application will be implemented in Azerbaijan.
