Azerbaijani music festival held in France

A festival of Azerbaijani music has been held in the city of Mulhouse, France.

Opening the event, organizer, president of XANADU Association, dean of the faculty of literature, language and humanities, head of Nizami Ganjavi Department at the University of Upper Alsace Greta Komur thanked the Embassy of Azerbaijan, Mulhouse Mayor's Office and other local institutions for the contribution to the organization of the festival, which is held for the third year.

Artistic director of the festival, composer and author of Khojaly 613 Pierre Thilloy highlighted music and culture of Azerbaijan.

Representative of Azerbaijan's Embassy Ayaz Qojayev hailed “diversity” of Azerbaijani culture, traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance in the country. He said 2016 was announced a year of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan. Qojayev praised the role of President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva in Azerbaijan`s becoming a venue of international dialogue of cultures and religions.

The festival featured performance of Baku Stars dance ensemble, young jazz singer, pianist Etibar Asadli, and Mulhouse City Orchestra.
