Demand in currency auction reaches a record

Foreign currency sale carried out at today's currency auction of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR).

SOFAZ put up for sale 50 mln USD, which was 12 times less than demand (600 mln USD). The amount was sold to 29 banks.

As a result of increased demand for regular currency auctions supply can grow up to 100-200 mln. USD: " After that there may be some appreciation of the manat against the US dollar".
