Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov had a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

Axar.az informs that, according to the Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as a number of topical issues on the agenda of cooperation.

During the telephone conversation, the sides touched upon cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan in the fields of renewable energy, tourism and other areas, and stressed the importance of further efforts in this direction after the end of the global health crisis.

The parties exchanged views on holding a summit on the fight against coronavirus on May 4 at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan via video conference in the format of the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group.

The ministers also stressed the importance of cooperation and mutual support between the two countries within international organizations.
