President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order appointing a number of servicemen of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the positions of senior officers.

Axar.az reports that the order states:

Guided by paragraph 12 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I decide:

1. To appoint the following servicemen of the Ministry of Defense of the Azerbaijan Republic to the positions of the specified high officer:

1.1. Lieutenant-General Osmanov Nizam Ramazan oglu - Deputy Chief of Staff - Chief of the Main Department of Combat Training and Military Education, Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the Main Logistics Department;

1.2. Major-General Efendiyev Anvar Zakaria oglu - dismissed from the post of Chief of the Combat Training Department of the Main Department of Combat Training and Military Education, Deputy Minister of Defense - Commander of the Land Forces;

1.3. Major-General Aliyev Azer Ali oglu - Deputy Chief of the Military Academy for Education, Chief of the Main Operations Department;

1.4. Major-General Seyidov Kanan Alihuseyn oglu - First Deputy Commander of the Special Forces - Chief of Staff and Commander of the 5th Army Corps.

2. This Order becomes effective from the date of signing.
