President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the improvement of management in the field of science and education in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Education was named the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan by decree.

According to the document, the powers related to the implementation of state policy and regulation in the field of science, coordinating and directing the scientific activities of scientific institutions and organizations were assigned to the Ministry.

The following agencies have been established under the Ministry:

State Agency for Science and Higher Education;

State Agency for Preschool and General Education.

The document approved the list of scientific institutions and organizations of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as other institutions.

The National Museum of Azerbaijan History of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi and the House Museum of Huseyn Javid were placed under the control of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
